How to reserve a puppy.
The best way to stay informed is to join our private Facebook group,www.facebook.com/groups/downhomedoodlesok we make all of our first notifications there, and since many of our families have adopted more than one puppy from us our private group is notified earlier than the general public and given first option to commit to a puppy.
For those families who decide they are ready to commit to a puppy from one of our litters, we require a completed Puppy Application and a $500 Non-Refundable deposit to hold a spot. Deposits can be made through Venmo or paypal. Personal checks are accepted for deposit BUT ARE NOT excepted for final payment. Each litter pick is determined by the order a deposit is received, so if there is a litter you want in on, the earlier you get your deposit in, the higher your pick. Once your application is approved and deposit received you will be placed on our committed list. Those placed on the committed list will be updated via e-mail or text message about the arrival and progress of upcoming litters. You do not have to commit to a specific litter you can just give us details of your dream puppy and we can contact you when one arrives meeting your requests. You must however, be willing to wait for this option.
Since your application fee is non-refundable, we recommend that you do not send in an application if you are not committed to waiting for one of our puppies. There may be an extended wait for a puppy, sometimes a few months or more (less, especially if you are flexible)! If you are not sure about making that commitment, we invite you to sign up for our no obligation notification list that does not require a deposit
When your application has been accepted for a pup, and after the litter is born, I will send out a Purchase Agreement/Health Warranty. At that time, you will need to return the signed Purchase Agreement, Puppy photos will be posted to Facebook and/or emailed from birth until you receive you puppy, along with advice and updates! Your pup will be available for pick-up somewhere between 8-10 weeks depending on development of puppy. If you can not pick up your puppy on pick up day, You MUST notify us in advance and the boarding fee will be determined at that time. Please understand sometimes we have more than one litter at different stages of their lives and all deserve our attention and love. So, keeping a puppy past it’s scheduled pick up date, is not always possible, but when it is there is an added expense.
Please give serious thought to your decision to reserve a puppy. The application fee confirms your intention to purchase and deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE and applied to your total cost. We discourage the picking of a puppy based on color alone. Our wish is that every puppy is placed in their forever home from the start, and feel that temperament plays a very big part in getting the perfect puppy for you. Their little personalities start to really emerge at about 6-7 weeks old, so pick day is scheduled sometime after their 6th week. This is also when they receive their first round of vaccinations. For the safety of our puppies we do NOT allow visits before their 6th week. Sometime after they get their first round of vaccinations, we will schedule a pick day. If you can not make pick day, we will still schedule you a time that day to video chat with you, so you can make your selection. Pick days are always scheduled sometime the week your litter turns 6 weeks. Normally that is done on a Saturday afternoon or sometimes Sunday afternoon. We ask that you take that into consideration and make arrangements early to insure you can make your pick time. In ore past I have allowed people to change their pick day. We will no longer be allowing that if you are unable to come to pick day and cannot FaceTime you will be moved to the end of the list or moved to the next litter. We ask that once you are scheduled to make your pick that you arrive on time. If you arrive over 15 minutes late you will forfeit your spot and be moved to the end of the day. If you do arrive early, please wait in your vehicle until it is your time. We do this, in order to give everyone picking our undivided attention and assistance in choosing their puppy.
